Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU) is accredited as a leading higher education institution in Fujian province, jointly supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the P. R. China, the State Forestry Administration and Fujian Provincial People’s Government. Its roots can be traced back to Agricultural Department of Fukien Christian College founded in 1936 and Fujian Provincial Agriculture College founded in 1940. FAFU finally got its name after the merger of Fujian Forestry College and Fujian Agriculture University in 2000. The University has four campuses with a total area of 300 hectares. Jinshan campus, as its main campus, is located in Jinshan District, Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian province. Here is home to more than 22,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students. Since FAFU’s establishment, we have formed our own motto of Excellent Virtue, Honest Wisdom, Profound Knowledge and Constant Innovation, and have been sticking to the pursuit of the spiritual ethos of loving career and loving people, opening mind and learning vast knowledge. Through generations of FAFU people's devotion to hard working and gradual forging, we are committed to the three tasks of research, teaching and extension by equally taking into account both their importance and connections, which aims to develop talents with hands-on working skills and qualifications to meet social needs.
