The FAO GPS-GIS training class was held in

From October 12th to 18th, the FAO GPS-GIS training class was held in the Institute of Beneficial Insects of FAFU. The training was organized by FAO/IAEA, which delegated Ms. Sirilux, the expert of the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand to take charge of the training course. Near20 members of the program of prevention and control of fruit fly inside and outside the province have participated in the training.

It is known that, the IAEA “Integrating the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) for Area-Wide Integrated Pest Management of Tephritid Fruit Flies” TC program hosted by the “The Center of prevention and control of fruit fly of United Nations in China”of FAFU has already obtained periodical achievements.The present training of application of GPS-GIS to fruit fly pests prevention and controlwould further enhance the level of the program team in preventing and controlling the fruit fly by using the GPS-GIS technology.
